If you think you might have bed bugs, don’t panic. These little critters can be sneaky and hard to get rid of, but that doesn’t mean you’re doomed to a lifetime of things that go crunch in the night. Instead of bugging out, follow these steps to make sure your home is bug-free and prevent the little pests from spreading.

The New York Post warns visitors to two popular city parks of a dangerous infestation of toxic algae bloom that has killed nine dogs.

The New York Daily News reports on a FDNY ambulance being taken out of service because of bedbugs. An FDNY spokesman said the ambulance had been taken out of service and “sealed in accordance to department procedure.” It was later treated by exterminators.

The New York Post reported that a tenant in Bushwick received a $300,000 judgement against his landlord over a bed bug infestation after the proprietor ignored repeated requests to remedy the situation.
